| Due to circumstances beyond our control, Vintage Stock Theatre’s 2019 Murder Mystery “A Midsummer Night’s Murder” has regretfully been postponed and will instead be mounted in summer 2020. Any tickets sold will be refunded in the coming days. For over 20 years Vintage Stock Theatre has been putting on quality community based theatre in Orleans and Cumberland and has always put its mandate of local historical and quality theatre first. Due to both a shorter lead time on beginning the production process and due to casting challenges, it was recognized by both the director and Vintage Stock Theatre management that the show was not coming together as expected. The decision was made that if we’d attempted to mount the show as planned that it would not be up to the level of quality that our patrons have come to expect. With this in mind, the decision was made to respect the work that our wonderful cast, crew and director have put into the production so far and not let all of that work go to waste. Our hope is to be able to mount this production at a TBD date in summer 2020 at the Cumberland Heritage Museum. As an organization we’ll be immediately taking a step back and reviewing our production processes to ensure that we learn from our mistakes.We sincerely appreciate all of the communities’ love and support over the years and we hope to see you again at our future events. The director and management apologize for any inconvenience that the postponement and cancellation of this year’s production have had on our cast, crew and patrons. |
