Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer Position: Volunteer Coordinator VST’s Mission
Vintage Stock Theatre is a non-for-profit amateur Theatre Company based in East Ottawa. Our mission is to promote heritage conservation and preservation through the production of plays written by local playwrights and produced locally, by a volunteer-based. 

Position Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible to attract and recruit volunteers for positions to assist with the production and management of VST activities. This position helps to extend the human resources for VST to better assist the needs of the theatre company. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities· 
Familiarize yourself with the various volunteer roles of VST· coordinate with the Production Board and the Board of Directors for the various VST requirements· develop / maintain a registry of Volunteers while respecting privacy and confidentiality of potential volunteers.· recruit/attract potential volunteer via social media· attends general volunteer orientation· Attend Production Board meetings and Board of Directors Meetings (aprox 8 times per year)· attend VST Annual General meeting (AGM) and provide a volunteer update over the last year· other duties specifically around coordination of special events, or as assigned 

Requirements/Qualification/Skills/Experience· 
Excellent communication skills· resilience and good humour to accommodate periodic tight deadlines and changing priorities· strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people· experience of managing or coordinating projects and volunteers (paid or unpaid)· an empathy with volunteers and an understanding of their needs· the capacity to inspire and motivate others· the ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity· good organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks· administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain records and produce clear written and oral reports· experience of working across different sectors and developing links with other agencies· a flexible and non-judgmental approach to people and work.· be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented· respect and maintain confidentiality of VST volunteers, partners, and donors 

Time Commitment· 
During Board meetings: 2 hours – 8 times per year· attraction and recruiting, 30 minutes – 2 to 3 times per week on social media 

Volunteer Coordinator Reports to: Production BoardTraining and 
supervision
There is no training associated with the Volunteer Coordinator position. However, most positions for which the Volunteer Coordinator will recruit will have appropriate training associated with it, either formal or informal.
